Teacher Self-Care 101

While many would consider teaching as one of the most fulfilling professions throughout the world, it is also a profession most heavily associated with stress. Though many teachers find a way to balance this stress, others don’t, which in turn results in all of the burnout that this industry is currently seeing. Despite understanding that this profession can have such an impact on their mental and physical health, some professionals are not prepared with the strategies necessary to handle it on their own. Knowing that there is such a proclivity toward burnout and thus turnover rates in the industry, it’s important that both schools and teachers are prepared with the right self-care strategies to alleviate some of the stress associated with the school year. This goes beyond just discussions without action. Through systemic change and personal work outside of the classroom, these teacher turnover rates can be mitigated. For more information on the ways in which teachers are approaching these feelings of burnout, take a moment to investigate the resource paired alongside this post.
